Statement / Bio

My art is driven by intuition. I follow a compulsion to make a certain kind of mark in a specific size or medium, etc. The process is very automatic. I primarily work in painting, drawing, and collage. Currently, I am experimenting with blending these three disciplines. I view my representational work as a way of looking out on the world and my abstract work as reflective, or a way of looking inward. I gravitate towards marks and imagery that is jarring, subversive, manic, patternistic, or kinetic in some way.
